This creates a push-pull effect. Releasing areas of strain, or tender areas otherwise known as trigger points or adhesions (most commonly called knots). The area can become hypersensitive and can cause pain, fatigue, and weakness in the muscle. This most commonly leads to referral pain in other areas. Neuromuscular massage works to break pain patterns on a neuromuscular level helping to make massage results last longer.
